Volleyball: Potomac State Rallies to salvage split

SPRINGFIELD, Va. — Potomac State, down 2-0, roared back to beat Northern Virginia 3-2 before falling to Catawba (N.C.) in a tri-match at Northern Virginia.

In the win over Northern Virginia, the Catamounts dropped the first two games 24-26, 21-25, then reeled off 25-12, 25-18 and 15-13 wins to take the match.

Shayla Hillian, Anya Murray and Shakayla Ganoe had double-doubles for the Catamounts. Hillian had 11 kills, 10 digs and five blocks, Murray 13 kills and 14 digs and Ganoe 35 assists, 13 digs and five aces.

Sara Lowery added nine kills and nine digs, Kyle Stottlemyer nine kills, Cassidy Cosner six kills, Autumn Dishman 21 digs and three aces and Sarah Whiteman four digs.

Catawba beat Potomac State by 25-20, 25-14, 25-21 scores.

Murray had 11 kills and six digs, Lowery six kills and six digs, Ganoe 26 assists and 11 digs, Dishman 10 digs and Hillian five kills for the Catamounts (7-2), who will host Allegany College on Thursday.
