Volleyball: PSC drops nail-biter at Hagerstown, 3-2

HAGERSTOWN, MD — Potomac State College goes into today’s tri-match at Cecil Community College still stinging from a five-set thrilling loss at Hagerstown Community College on Wednesday evening.

The Hawks, despite being outscored 113-68, fought back from being down 2-1 and a point away from losing the match to beat the Catamounts 3-2.Game scores were 27-25, 13-25, 16-25, 27-25 and 16-14.

“In set four we rallied back from a deficit and had game point at 23-24 when Annie Fox served the ball and had a very narrow miss that was a mere inch away from a match point for us,” said Potomac State head coach Martha Ganoe.

Three Catamounts finished with double doubles. Brittney Hozdic had 14 kills and 12 blocks, Bailey Godlove had 15 kills and 11 digs, Ericka Gordon had 13 kills and 16 digs, and Hanna Slider finished with 47 assists and 16 digs. Godlove also had three aces and two block assists while Gordon had two aces and Slider four block assists and two aces.

Kiera Holton made 13 kills and had five block assists, Devan Day had 25 digs and two aces, Viriya Lim had eight digs, Dejaha Morris four kills and six block assists, and Annie Fox had an ace and four digs.
