CUMBERLAND, Md. - The Potomac State College women's volleyball again played well on Thursday evening, but unfortunately not well enough to beat Allegany (Md.) College in Cumberland.

After two close losses to open the season on Wednesday, the Lady Catamounts took a two-sets-to-one lead before dropping the final two sets and the match.

Allegany opened with a 30-23 victory in the first set, only to have Potomac State rally with wins of 30-20 and 30-25 to take a 2-1 lead.

But Allegany evened the match in the fourth set with a 30-25 win, and pulled off match victory in the fifth set, 15-9.

Erica Pratt led Potomac State in service points, converting 22-of-23 with five aces. She also had 10 kills.

Randi Bennett was 9-for-11 serving and also had eight kills, four digs and five blocks, while Nikki Sidaway was a perfect 20-for-20 serving with two aces. She added four kills, three digs, two blocks and 14 assists.

Potomac State (0-3) will next be in action Monday when it travels to take on Westmoreland Community College at 7 p.m.
