Student Activities and Intramurals

Office:

Potomac State College’s student activities and intramural programs are run out of The Student Activities Office which is located in The Loft of the Student Union.  We are always open to suggestions from students about how to improve student life here on campus, so if you have an idea for a program or would like to see a specific intramural sport organized, or just want to talk, stop on by and let us know.

Student Activities on FACEBOOK

If you are interested in getting updates about upcoming programs on campus via Facebook, search for and become a Fan of “ Student Activities at Potomac State College of WVU .” There are discussion boards available for you to make suggestions, polls for you to choose which movies you want brought to campus, and more! Check us out!

Student Activities Calendar

In addition to Program Bulletins in The Commons and flyers across campus, the Student Activities Office has an Events Calendar on the Potomac State College website that is updated regularly and can be found here. There is also an icon at the top right of the Potomac State College home page as well!

Weekly Programs:

Here at PSC, there are countless opportunities for Students to just “get away from it all.” Every day of the week (except Friday), there are regular weekly programs available for students to attend and just have fun!

Documentary Nights

Every Sunday Night at 7:00 pm we will show a different documentary in the University Place Theater. If you have a suggestion for a documentary that you would like to see or if there is a specific topic that you would like to know more about, let the Student Activities Coordinator know and he will add it to the line-up.

Game Nights

Every Monday night from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm you can relive your childhood by playing board games and card games that are available in The Loft of the Student Union (as long as the games stay in the Union).

We also have poker chips and decks of cards for you card sharks out there as well (just remember, no real gambling please).  You are also more than welcome to bring your own games if you wish.

Monday Night RAW

For you wrestling enthusiasts, Monday Night RAW will be shown in the University Place Theater every Monday night from 9:00 pm to 11:05 pm. Costumes welcomed!

Movie Nights

Tuesday Night Double Feature – every Tuesday night at 7:00 pm & 9:00 pm

Saturday Night Double Feature – every Saturday night at 7:00 pm & 9:00 pm

The Student Activities Office shows four different movies each week in the University Place Theater. The first movie begins at 7:00 pm on both Tuesday and Saturday, and depending on the running time of the first movie, the second movie begins 15 minutes after the conclusion of the first movie (normally around 9 p.m.).

We have a 5 Movies-at-a-Time Netflix Subscription, which means that if you would like to see a certain movie (and do not feel like renting or buying it yourself), let us know and we will add it to the queue.

Look for Movie Flyers across campus and Program Bulletins in The Commons to find out what movies are showing each week.

Video Game Nights

Every Wednesday and Thursday night from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm in The Loft (Top Floor of the Student Union) is Video Game Night. We have a diverse library of games available for use on the 360 and the Wii (along with four controllers for both systems), and are always trying to update it with the best of the best titles.

Please feel free to bring your own games though, set up tournaments, or organize FFAs. The choice is yours!

Late Nights

Every Wednesday and Thursday night from 9:00 pm to 11:30 pm is “Late Night in the Commons.”

Come on down after a long week of classes and get free food, hang out with friends, and participate in whatever Late Night activities are planned for that night. You do not need to swipe your card to get in and everything is free. Just remember though that you need to keep all food and drinks inside the cafeteria!
