MARY POPPINS flying into Potomac State in March

Potomac State College of West Virginia University is pleased to announce that tickets are now on sale for the Disney musical, “MARY POPPINS.”  The family-friendly production will be presented at the Church-McKee Arts Center on March 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, 28 at 7 p.m. and March 21, 22, and 29 at 2 p.m.

A talented cast of 30 follows the Broadway script featuring many of the favorite songs from the movie including: A Spoonful of Sugar, Step in Time, Practically Perfect, and Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

Mary Poppins"Special effects are being incorporated into the play and will have Mary Poppins flying overhead during this production. "  Flying by Foy, a professional, theatrical flying company, is the same one that was used in the original Broadway production of “MARY POPPINS.”

Advance tickets for the play are available at the following locations throughout the Tri-State area: Keyser - BB & T Bank, Chessie Federal Credit Union, First United Bank, Grant County Bank; Romney - Anderson's Corner, South Branch Inn; Cumberland - The Book Center, Victorian Creations; Frostburg - Main Street Books; Moorefield - Anderson’s Corner, South Branch Inn, Stray Cat Café; Petersburg - Grant County Press.

The Box Office will open one hour prior to show time and general admission tickets will be available at the door. As in the past, special reserved seating is available by calling the Box Office at 304-788-6855.

However, new this year is a special VIP ticket that’s being offered. The VIP ticket includes a "Behind-the-Scenes" backstage tour prior to the show. The backstage tour is a fun and educational sneak-peak as to what’s involved with putting on a large-scale theatrical production and includes: a demonstration of stage "magic," the background of the show, a brief history of PSC Theatre productions, a meet and greet with the production staff, and photo opportunities with various cast members. Additionally, VIP ticket holders will receive priority seating before the doors are opened to the public. For VIP ticket reservations, call the Box Office at 304-788-6855.

Under the direction of Tom Valentine and Music Director Craig Schutz, the cast of “MARY POPPINS” will be accompanied by a live orchestra which will be directed by Dr. Brian Plitnik, who serves as a visiting instructor in music at the College.
