Potomac State Schedules Released For Fall Sports

Keyser, WV- Potomac State College has released the fall 2011 schedules for every fall sport. The men's soccer team opens the sports year just six days after the first day of classes by hosting Salem University on Sunday, August 28. Both soccer teams, baseball and golf open their season during the last week of August. Women's Volleyball has their first match Thursday, September 1st.

After hosting Salem to open the season, the Catamount soccer men have two more home games at Stayman Field against Patrick Henry College on Wednesday, August 31 then again on September 1st against Region XX foe Hagerstown Community College. Potomac State finished last season with an 8-5-1 mark. In all the men's soccer team will play eight home games with eight on the road.

The soccer women's soccer open their season at home with Patrick Henry College on Wednesday, August 31. Another highlight of the schedule includes the Lady Catamounts at the Trinity-Washington University Tournament on Saturday and Sunday, September 10th and 11th. The Lady Cats, who are coming off their best season ever in 2010, with a 10-2-1 mark will test the road often this season as they have just five home dates with 10 on the road.

The women's volleyball team opens its season at home when they host Frederick Community College. The Lady Cats will play in two very challenging tournaments early in the season when they face off in the Howard Community College Tournament, (September 3-4) and the College of Southern Maryland Invitational, (September 9-10). The PSC netters will also find themselves away from home often as they have eight matches at home with 14 on the road.

The Potomac State Golf team will look to continue their recent dominance in the Region when they open their season Sunday, August 28 as they take on all the schools in the WPCC. PSC will travel to several fine courses this fall season including The Links at Spring Church, Virginia National and Cedarbrook Golf Club.

The Potomac State Baseball team will have a busy fall with a full schedule of scrimmage games including 16 of 20 dates played on campus at Golden Park.
