Potomac State College of West Virginia University has combined two of their most popular special interest courses, Fine Dining and Power Grilling, into one course now titled “Fine Dining and Grilling.”
Participants in this course will learn the techniques of a grill master, including the difference between grilling and barbequing; preparing various cuts of meat, fish and vegetables; appropriate temperature and time recommendations; how to make sauces and marinades; and other relevant information.
Practices associated with fine dining will also be studied, including preparation and presentation of gourmet foods, table preparation and serving procedures.
Grill master Keith Lewis and Hospitality Instructor Chef Thomas Vieli will teach the class on Thursdays (every other week), from August 25 to October 20 from 6 to 8:45 p.m. The course will be held at the Agriculture Technology Building, Room 100.
The fee for this one-credit course is $103. Individuals are encouraged to enroll as soon as possible to reserve their seats as Special Interest Courses tend to fill up quickly. Tuition is due by the first day of class.
