American Legion Baseball Tournament Coming to PSC July 28-31

Take me out to the ballgame!

“Take me out with the crowd. Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jack …”

What better way to spend a balmy summer day than enjoying a baseball game? The West Virginia American Legion Baseball Tournament will be held at Potomac State College of West Virginia University at Golden Park on the Potomac State campus from July 28 through July 31.

Games begin at 10 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 28, Friday, July 29 and Saturday, July 30. Sunday’s game, July 31, begins at noon. Playoffs will be by double elimination. There is a charge of $5 for adults and $4 for students per day. Concessions will be sold at the games.  

The top six teams from around the state competing in the tournament include: Berkeley Post 14, South Charleston Post 94, Bridgeport MVB, Elkins Post 29, Wheeling Post 1, and the host team Potomac Valley Post 64/78.

The tournament champs will advance to a regional tournament to face winners of other states to determine who will advance to the American Legion Baseball World Series, which will be held at Keeter Stadium- Veteran’s Field in Shelby, NC.
