WVU Provost Wheatly to Address 2011 Graduating Class
Michele G. Wheatly, Ph.D., Provost of West Virginia University, will address the 2011 graduating class at Potomac State on Saturday, May 7 at 11 a.m. in the Church-McKee Arts Center Auditorium. Dr. Wheatly was appointed to her position in January 2010. She serves as Chief Academic Officer responsible for the administration of all academic policies, programs and facilities, including budgetary matters (excluding the Health Sciences Center). Dr. Wheatly has been engaged in actively supporting international partnerships and was a valuable asset in regards to the university-wide strategic planning process. She has written or contributed to more than 100 journal articles and/or book chapters. Dr. Wheatley earned both her bachelor’s degree and doctorate from Birmingham University. She also held a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Calgary in Canada.
