Whitehair Named Outstanding Student at PSC

Potomac State College of West Virginia University recently recognized Rachel Whitehair with the E. William Noland Outstanding Student Award for the 2010-2011 academic year. 

Whitehair is a biology major whose future goal after graduation is to continue her education at WVU where she plans to attend medical school. She has been named to the Provost’s List every semester that she’s attended Potomac State and currently serves as president of the Catamounts Against Cancer Club, working closely with Relay for Life.

Recognition Day Program.

Whitehair has served as a math tutor and is a member of the Sigma Phi Omega Honor Society. She was also chosen as a Character Counts! student for the character trait of citizenship. 

Because of her academic success, Whitehair’s name was inscribed on the Duke Anthony Whitmore/Henry Louis Gates, Jr. Academic Achievement Wall as well. 

She has been involved with her local 4-H Club for many years, is a graduate of Keyser High School and also attended the Mineral County Technical Center. Whitehair is the daughter of Julie Braithwaite.
