Potomac State Volleyball Claims PCAA Championship

2011 Pennsylvania Collegiate Athletic Association Volleyball Championship

The Potomac State volleyball team won the Pennsylvania Collegiate Athletic Association title on Saturday, defeating Harrisburg Community College, 26-28, 25-14, 25-19, and 25-21, at Lough Gymnasium.
The Lady Cats were led by outstanding play from Shayla Bartles, who finished with 19 points, nine aces, 15 digs, six kills, and four blocks.
Former Keyser High Standout Cindy Ellifritz scored 16 points, three on aces.
Taylor Oates had 39 assists and 10 digs, while Samantha Deter added a career-high 29 digs.
Ex-Frankfort Star Katie Bush had a team-high 15 kills, while Amber Wesley added 12.
Another former Lady Falcon, Taylor Douthitt, finished with eight digs.
Emily Funkhouser added seven kills, six digs and two blocks.
Wesley and Oates were named to the PCAA All-State Team, while PSC Coach Martha Ganoe was selected as the Conference's Coach of the Year.
Potomac State (21-2) has won 10 straight matches and will travel to Washington Adventist University in Takoma Park, Md., on November 1.
