Oates joins faculty at Potomac State
Kristen Oates has been named to the faculty at Potomac State College of West Virginia University as an instructor in psychology.
Oates earned her master’s degree in experimental psychology from Western Illinois University in 2008 and her bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology from Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill., where she graduated cum laude. She is currently working on her Ph.D. with an expected completion date of May 2012.

Oates has given several presentations, was recognized with The Ralph Waldo Hansen Award for Excellence in Psychology and is a member of the Psi Chi National Honor Society.
Prior to coming to Potomac State, Oates served as a part-time instructor, a research assistant, a teaching assistant, and an admissions counselor.
Professional affiliations include the Society for Personal and Social Psychology, the American Psychological Association and the Midwestern Psychological Association.
She is the daughter of Jay and Kathy Oates.
