Students Participate in Recent Health, Community Fair
Kathrine Yeargain, a freshman at Potomac State College of West Virginia University, gives the thumbs up after a CO2 Reading confirms she’s a non-smoker. By blowing into a gauge, a CO2 Reading measures an individual’s carbon monoxide level and can determine if an individual is anywhere from a non-smoker up to a dangerously addicted smoker. Yeargain is from Hibbs, Pa., and is a graduate of Brownsville High School. She is a pre-nursing major and the daughter of Susan and Jon Yeargain. Administering the test is Angela Wolford, Regional Tobacco Prevention Coordinator for Berkeley, Hampshire, Jefferson, Mineral, and Morgan Counties. Tobacco prevention was just one of many interactive displays at the recent Health and Community Fair held on the College campus as part of the Welcome Week activities for students, faculty and staff.
