Morris recognized as Outstanding Staff Person of the Year by PSC

Dixie Heavener, who works as a project coordinator in the Business Office and also serves as Chairwoman for the Classified Employees Council, along with College Provost Leonard Colelli, congratulate Terri Morris (center) on being named Outstanding Staff Person of the Year for 2013 at Potomac State College of West Virginia University.

Terri Morris, administrative associate in the Enrollment Services Office, was named the “2013 Outstanding Staff Person of the Year” during the recent Weekend of Honors at Potomac State College of West Virginia University.

The following is an excerpt from individuals who nominated Morris, “Terri has given many years of dedicated service to the College and is professional and knowledgeable when speaking with students and parents. Her friendliness and knowledge is a great asset in recruiting and retaining students. She maintains and operates two student information systems, has always been reliable, efficient, and very pleasant when dealing with even the most challenging situations, and greets everyone with a smile.”

Morris graduated from Potomac State in 1978 with an associate of arts degree in executive secretarial science. She began working at the College just a few months later and has served in the same position for nearly 35 years. Additionally, she has served on search committees for the College.

A $500 scholarship will be awarded to a qualifying student in Fall 2013 on behalf of Terri Morris for her recognition as the Outstanding Staff Person of the Year.

Morris and her husband, Richard, who reside in Keyser, have two sons, Bradley and Daniel, and two granddaughters, Taylor and Katelyn.
