Lawrence Brenneman (left) and Judith Benneman (right) met with recipients of the Betty T. Livengood Teacher Education Scholarship at a dinner recently held at Potomac State College of West Virginia University. Keyser residents Jasmine Redman (second from left) and Carrie Riggleman are the recipients of the scholarship.
Jasmine Redman and Carrie Riggleman were both awarded the Betty T. Livengood Teacher Education Scholarship at Potomac State College of West Virginia University. Redman and Riggleman are both elementary education majors from Keyser, W.Va and graduates of Keyser High School.
This scholarship was established in honor of Betty T. Livengood who served as a former director of general education (K-12) and staff development coordinator for Mineral County Schools. Selection is based on academic achievement, leadership, character and professional motivation for service in youth.
A dinner was recently held in honor of the scholarship donors and their recipients. Donors enjoyed learning about the future plans of the students while the students were able to learn about the history of their particular scholarship.
Attending the dinner as the scholarship representative was Judith Brenneman, the daughter of Betty Livengood, along with her husband, Lawrence Brenneman.
