Approximately a hundred students, faculty and staff gathered to hear excerpts from King’s “I Have a Dream”speech and other short clips from the Reverend Jesse Jackson and President Barack Obama.

Ryan Dickerson (pictured), a freshman sociology major from Richmond, Va., read poems written by Langston Hughes, Abel Meeropol and Nordette Adams. He is the son of Ronniece and Clyde Brand. Students also participated in a short exercise by writing down their own dreams.
