PSC Celebrates 112th Birthday

The Potomac State Catamount was on hand to help the College celebrate its 112th birthday on February 15.
The campus community  was treated to birthday cake in recognition of this milestone. Pictured from left are:
Brittany Turklay, a criminal justice major from  Wheeling, W.Va.; Kaylin Rose, a physical education/sports
management major also from Wheeling, W.Va.; Travis Taylor, a pre-social work major from Pittsburgh, Pa.;
and Kristopher John, a business administration major from Uniontown, Pa. The College was created on Feb.15,
1901 as The Keyser Preparatory Branch of West Virginia University by an act of the legislature. The bill’s passage
came at the urging of Mineral County Delegate Francis M. Reynolds who was concerned about the quality of the

The PSC Catamount saw to it that everyone had cake in celebration of the College’s 112th birthday. Standing
with the Catamount is Assistant Baseball Coach Brock Stevens. Seated around the table from left are students
and members of the baseball team: Mike Eisel, from Wooster, Ohio, who is majoring in business administration;
Scott Fox, a physical education major from Elkins, W.Va.; Dylan Kaplan, from Hershey, Pa. is majoring in journalism,
