Chester D. Harman MD Memorial Scholarship awarded to Shanholtz

Madison Shanholtz awarded the Chester D. Harman MD Memorial Scholarship

Potomac State College of West Virginia University held its annual reception where donors get the opportunity to meet and talk with the student recipients of their scholarships. Donors enjoy learning about the future plans of the students while the students learn the history of their particular scholarship. Petersburg resident Madison Shanholtz (left) was awarded the Chester D. Harman MD Memorial Scholarship, which is presented to a student from Grant or Pendleton County who is majoring in biology or chemistry with a pre-pharmacy or pre-medicine career path. Shanholtz is a freshman biology major and a member of the Relay for Life Club at the College. She is a graduate of Petersburg High School and the daughter of Faron and Ronda Shanholtz. Also pictured are Terry Falkowski, daughter of the late Dr. Harman, who also serves as an adjunct instructor in chemistry, and her husband, Henry Falkowski, Ph.D., professor of chemistry at Potomac State.
