Fox and Fungaroli named Outstanding Male Athletes

Shawn White (from left), director of athletics, recently presented Scott Fox, a physical education major with an emphasis in athletic coaching, and Conor Fungaroli, a physical education major with an emphasis in sports management, with Outstanding Male Athlete of the Year Awards at Potomac State College of West Virginia University. Campus Provost Leonard Colelli was also present for the presentation.

Scott Fox and Conor Fungaroli were presented with Outstanding Male Athlete of the Year Awards recently at Potomac State College of West Virginia University during the College’s annual Weekend of Honors.

Fox is a physical education major with an emphasis in athletic coaching from Elkins, W.Va. As a member of the Catamount’s baseball team, Fox serves in the position of pitcher and outfielder. He was recently named to the All-Region XX team with second team honors. At season’s end he had a batting average of .335, 64 hits, 39 runs, 3 homeruns, and 43 RBIs. Pitching stats include an earned run average of 3.82, with 8 wins and 1 loss. He is the son of Harold and Tracy Fox.

Fungaroli is a physical education major with an emphasis in sports management from Paris, Pa. He is a member of the Catamount’s soccer team and serves in the position of goalkeeper. As a freshman at the College, Fungaroli finished the season ranked as the 10th best goalkeeper in the National Junior College Athletic Association for Division III Soccer. His determination led him to be named to the Region XX Men's Soccer First Team and to the Region XX All-Tournament team. During the 2012 season, Fungaroli gave up just 10 goals and posted 10 shutouts. He was also named to the Region XX all-tournament team. He is the son of Jim and Perci Fungaroli.
