The Potomac State College Athletic Department is proud to announce that it will be sponsoring Soles 4 Souls for the month of April 2014. Soles4Souls is a non-profit organization ...that collects all types of shoes and distributes them to people in need. A collective group athletes from each team at Potomac State is spearheading this drive.

President of the Potomac State chapter Meghan Anderson says, “As a student athlete we wanted to find a way to help those in disadvantaged communities.  Soles 4 Soles provide shoes for individuals that can’t afford them.  We ask that you go through your closet and pull out any old shoes and donate them to this worthy cause.”  It can be any type of shoe: Tennis shoes, flip flops, boots, spikes, sandals. All shoes of any condition are welcomed.

Soles4Souls is a global not-for-profit institution dedicated to fighting the devastating impact and perpetuation of poverty.  The organization advances its anti-poverty mission by collecting new and used shoes and clothes from individuals, schools, faith-based institutions, civic organizations and corporate partners, then distributing those shoes and clothes both via direct donations to people in need and by provisioning qualified micro-enterprise programs designed to create jobs in poor and disadvantaged communities.

The campus and the community are asked to drop off their old shoes at the Administration Building or the College gymnasium during business hours of 8:30a.m. – 4:00p.m. A box has been located in the hallway in each building.  If you are unable to deliver them please contact Shawn White at 304-788-6879 and he will help them get delivered.
