New Student Government Elections to be held September 2

Be a part of Potomac State College history. At the final SGA Student Body meeting on April 28th, 2014 (after months of hard work, philosophical discussions, and weekend meetings) the Student Body unanimously adopted a new SGA Constitution, one that is focused on bettering student life for current and future students here at Potomac State College of WVU. On Tuesday, September 2nd, those months of hard work will finally pay off when we hold our 1st Annual SGA General Election, thereby ushering in a new era of Student Government and of student involvement here at Potomac State College.

PSC SGA sealAs of right now, all positions within the Student Government are vacant, and therefore will be up for election this coming semester.  The SGA is seeking qualified candidates to fill those positions and thereby form our new Student Government.  But we need your help!  Please visit our Election Center page to find out about what positions are vacant, how the election process will work, and other pertinent election information.  Please also take the time to read through the new SGA Constitution to learn more about each position’s job responsibilities, and see how the new SGA will be organized this year.

If you are interested in running for one of the positions, please print out of a Declaration of Intention to Run for Office Form found on our SGA Forms page (or pick one up outside of the Student Involvement Office), and return it to the Student Involvement Office (Student Union 101) by 12:00 PM noon on Friday, August 22nd

There will also be a SGA Interest Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, August 19th at 6:00 PM in The Loft of the Student Union for anyone seeking more information about the upcoming election.  If you intend on running for office, it is highly recommended that you attend this meeting. If you cannot make it, please stop by the Office of Student Involvement sometime before the Declaration deadline to find out what you missed.
