Hackworth Scholarship recipient meets donor

Hackworth Scholarship

A reception acknowledging both the donors and recipients of scholarships at Potomac State College of WVU was recently held.  This event gives donors the opportunity to talk with the recipient of their scholarship about the educational and career goals of the student.  Stephanie Mace (center) of Ft. Ashby, W.Va., was the recipient of the ‘Skip Hackworth Scholarship’ and met with Shirley and Skip Hackworth, for whom the scholarship was named.  The scholarship was established in 2012 as a way of honoring Hackworth for his nine years of service as superintendent of Mineral County Schools and is awarded annually to a Mineral County student.  Mace is an elementary education major at the College and the daughter of Greg and Kim Mace.  Anyone wanting to establish or donate to this or any other scholarship can do so by contacting Lucas Taylor, director of development, at 304-788-6995 or at lstaylor@mail.wvu.edu
