PSC/Community Spring Jazz Concert to be Presented

The Potomac State College/Community Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Fred Kesner, will present its Spring Jazz Concert on Thursday, April 30 at 7:30 PM in the Church-McKee Arts Center on the campus of Potomac State College of West Virginia University.  The concert will feature a variety of big band jazz styles and will spotlight the band’s outstanding soloists.  A highlight of the program will be the performance of Buddy Rich’s famous “Channel One Suite”, featuring Bart Lay on drums.

Saxophone section members are Richard Frush, Roger Henry, Ed Cameron, Sierra Tretter, and Mike Pfaff. The trumpet section consists of Jon Bush, Tom Simpson, Phil Fertig, and Bill AuMiller.  Playing trombone are Will Nose, Lynn Zeller, Dan Moreland, Herb Lambert, and Hunter Martin.  The rhythm section is composed of Ed Morgret (piano), Jim Roderick (bass), and Bart Lay (drum set).

The concert is free and the public is encouraged to attend and support the live performance of jazz and big band music in our community.
