Teubner tabbed to lead Potomac State Men’s Lacrosse

Keyser, WV- Potomac State College of WVU has announced that Patrick Teubner has been hired to be the Men’s Lacrosse Head Coach.

Teubner becomes the second coach in the program’s history which began last season.

Teubner is a Former University of Maryland, Anne Arundel Community College and German National Team player and brings 34 years of lacrosse experience to Potomac State College.

A 1989 graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park, with a Bachelor of General Studies degree, Teubner lettered in Lacrosse.  He is a member of the prestigious “M” Club for Varsity Letter winners.

Patrick TeubnerPrior to finishing his education and playing career at the University of Maryland, Teubner was a 1987 NJCAA First Team All-American on defense at Anne Arundel Community College in Arnold, MD, graduating with an Associate of Arts degree in Business Administration. He also served as a team captain and twice earned a spot on the dean’s list.

Teubner was a member of the 2001 European Champion German National Team under Coach Christian Zwickert that went 6-0, beating England twice and winning the European Cup in Cardiff, Wales. The losses were England’s first ever to a European team.

Teubner’s international lacrosse experience continued as he served on the Board of Directors of the South African Lacrosse Project-(SALP) in 2008-2009 .Teubner is credited as overseeing the first fully equipped lacrosse clinic on the African continent in Vaalwater, South Africa in 2009.  “One of my most cherished and profound experiences,” says Teubner.

Teubner’s extensive post collegiate playing experience includes the Greene Turtle LC (Baltimore), MLC (Baltimore), Lakeshore LC (Chicago), Cuervo LC (San Diego), Malibu LC (LA) Hollywood LC (LA) and Quicksilver LC (LA), which won the 2009 California State Post Collegiate Club Championship.

Teubner has brought his vast lacrosse experience to the coaching ranks, which over the past 5 years have included Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach, Glen Burnie High School, Glen Burnie, MD (2015), Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach, Annapolis Area Christian School, Annapolis, MD (8th grade team - 2013), Varsity Defensive Coordinator, Summer Camp Co-Director , event management and Cavs Lax Defensive Coordinator, Archbishop Spalding High School, Severn, MD (2012), Volunteer Assistant,  Immaculata University, West Chester, PA (2011)

Teubner’s extensive camp and clinic experience also includes a role as a talent evaluator for the Addidas National High School Classic and the Brine National All-American Lacrosse Classic.

Teubner’s strength and conditioning resume includes certifications with the National Academy of Sports Medicine, American Council on Exercise, the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America, has spanned over 25 years and includes training out of the famed Gold’s Gym in Venice, CA. Teubner’s clients have included celebrity actors, musicians, athletes and fitness competitors.

Teubner is a 1984 graduate of Annapolis Senior High School in Annapolis, MD, where he was a standout three sport letter winner (football, basketball, lacrosse). He quarterbacked the Panther football team and in his senior year was the State Finalist in Basketball, helped anchor the State championship in Lacrosse and was a First Team All-County selection on Defense.

Teubner’s varied life experiences includes being a member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and also includes living in 6 different countries.
