Mineral County graduates receive Davis Scholarship from PSC

Potomac State College of West Virginia University is pleased to announce that the following students from Mineral County have been offered the Ruth Ward Davis Memorial Nursing Scholarship which was established at Potomac State in 2007.

The late Ruth Ann Davis, Ph.D., professor emerita of biology and chemistry, retired from the College in 2001 after 18 years of service.  The funds were donated in memory of her mother and were the largest donation to the College at that time.  This endowment provides undergraduate scholarships for freshmen students enrolled in the College’s pre-med and pre-nursing programs.

Current recipients of the Ruth Ward Davis Memorial Nursing Scholarship include: Frankfort High School:  Madison Miller, Lacy Root, Cheyenne Abe, Robert Bridges, Summer Miers, and Haley Shreve.  Keyser High School: Julie Abernathy, Sami Pearce, Caitlin Kuhn, Shannon McGuinness, Elizabeth Kesner, and Stephanie Helmick.

Austin Browning, who was home-schooled, was also offered the scholarship.
