Potomac State students compete at Rock ‘N’ Read Fundraiser

More than 20 submissions of poetry were presented by Potomac State College (PSC) of West Virginia University students at the annual Rock ‘N’ Read fundraiser event sponsored by the Frostburg State University Center for Creative Writing. 

The seven PSC students whose work was featured in the show include: Jasmine Evans, a general studies major from Lithonia, Ga.; Jenny Falls, an early childhood education major from Romney, W.Va.; Alexia Mauzy, a biology major from Cumberland, Md.; Janay Moen, a criminology major from Lodi, Wis.; Morgan Mongold, a pre-medical laboratory science major from Wardensville, W.Va.; Ian Robinson, a general studies major from Keyser, W.Va. and Amber Twigg, a psychology major from Romney, W.Va. 

Additionally, former PSC student Alexandra Conley, earned second prize for “Old Deuteronomy” in The Word & Image Project, a juried art exhibition in which the submitter must either create a work of art based on a poem or incorporate a poem into a work of art.
