Jazz Ensemble to present concert at Potomac State
The Potomac State College/Community Jazz Ensemble will present a concert on Wednesday, November 18 at 7:30 p.m.in the Church-McKee Arts Center on the campus of Potomac State College of West Virginia University. This event is free and open to the public.
The concert will feature a variety of big band jazz styles. The Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Fred Kesner, rehearses weekly at the college and features many of the area’s finest jazz musicians.
Saxophone section members include Richard Frush, Roger Henry, Ed Cameron, Sierra Tretter, and Mike Pfaff. The trumpet section consists of Jon Bush, Tom Simpson, Phil Fertig, and Bill AuMiller. Playing trombone are Will Nose, Andy Knotts, Dan Moreland, and Herb Lambert. The rhythm section is composed of Brent Weber (piano), Jim Roderick (bass), and Bart Lay (drums) with special guest, Tom Harrison on piano and guitar.
The campus community and public are encouraged to attend this free concert and support the live performance of jazz and big band music in our community.
