Shultz to serve as IT Coordinator at Potomac State
Tricia Shultz was recently appointed to serve as the information technology coordinator at Potomac State College of West Virginia University.
In addition to supervising the IT technical staff, Shultz will be responsible for managing IT operations at the College and for resolving any computer hardware issues arising with equipment.
Shultz previously served as lab coordinator at Frostburg State University where she was responsible for providing hardware and software technical support, maintained more than 1,300 computers and supervised student workers, among other duties.
Prior to that, Shultz served as director of advancement services at Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y. Her duties there included supervising the advancement services staff and serving as the millennium database administrator.
Other experiences include troubleshooting computer hardware and software issues; knowledgeable in Pascal, C. and Assembler programming languages; skilled in SQL, Crystal Reports, Millennium, and MS Access; and familiarity with all levels of IT departments.
Certifications include: Millennium Associate, Bachelor’s and Master’s classes as well as System Administration; and Introductory Administration for Linux/Unix Systems – Cisco Regional Training.
Shultz holds two degrees in computer science, an associate degree from SUNY Canton in Canton, N.Y. and a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Potsdam in Potsdam, N.Y.
Shultz, who is a black belt in Taekwondo and is certified as a women’s self-defense instructor; she lives in Keyser with her husband, Jim, and their two sons.
