Kelly accepts position at Potomac State
Potomac State College of West Virginia University is pleased to announce that Benjamin Kelly, ATC, LAT has accepted the position of athletic trainer at the College.
In this position, Kelly will work closely with the men’s athletic teams, the women’s softball team and will share responsibilities of the women’s volleyball team with the other athletic trainer.
Prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of sports injuries will be the focus of Kelly’s duties. He will also manage the inventory of clinical supplies as well as the individual athlete’s rehabilitation and treatment forms.
Kelly earned his bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Frostburg State University in Frostburg, Md., gaining more than 600 clinical hours while serving as a student athletic trainer, where he spent time taping, bracing, evaluating, and rehabilitating athletes.
In addition to being a certified licensed athletic trainer, Kelly has given presentations to high school athletes in the areas of concussions, hydration and proper clinical care.
He is a Certified Track Official with the National Federation of State High School Associations, a United States of America Track and Field Official, and a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success.
Kelly previously served as head athletic trainer at Allegany College of Maryland where he designed rehabilitation programs, performed fitness evaluations, ensured proper equipment maintenance, and instructed athletes on the use and care of orthopedic appliances.
