Transmitting Antenna Set for Mountain Streams Radio

Mountain Streams Radio, WKYW-LP, the Mineral County Historical Society’s new radio station, is closer to becoming reality as a transmitting antenna was recently installed a top Potomac State College of WVU’s residence hall, Catamount Place. Collaborating with the Historical Society, Potomac State College is providing studio space in its residence hall.  Pictured on the roof of Catamount Place are Marty White, left, a broadcast engineer, who installed the low-powered circular polarized FM transmitting antenna, and Ed McDonald, manager of Mountain Streams Radio. The transmitter and antenna were funded in part by a grant from the Community Trust Foundation, serving Allegany, Garrett and Mineral Counties. The radio station has begun testing and will soon be on the air at 102.9 FM and will stream online at: www.mountainstreamsradio.org
