Potomac State College of West Virginia University recently participated in Moorefield High School’s “College Decision Day” initiative.
According to Chancellor Paul L. Hill, Ph.D., of the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission (HEPC), “College Decision Day is inspired by sports events, such as the NCAA national signing day and the NFL draft. We want to make sure we showcase the academic excellence of our students with the same enthusiasm and pride as we devote to sports.”
A total of 34 high schools in West Virginia are participating in the annual event as a way of recognizing seniors who plan to continue their education at the collegiate level. The HEPC coordinated this initiative through the College Foundation of West Virginia as a way of helping students attend college.
“College Decision Day” is part of First Lady Michelle Obama’s Reach Higher initiative which focuses on inspiring students to pursue advanced training and higher education.
