The Outstanding Staff Recognition program kicked off Potomac State College of West Virginia University’s 11th Annual Weekend of Honors festivities earlier this spring. This year, Susan Slaubaugh, an administrative associate in the Business Office, was recognized for her exceptional service.

Slaubaugh’s career with the College began in August 1986 with Student Support Services, a federally funded TRIO program that served and assisted low-income individuals, first-generation college students, and individuals with disabilities to successfully complete their postsecondary education. She worked as an office manager with the program helping students connect with tutoring and other services, planning and coordinating student activities, and collecting data, among other responsibilities.

When the Student Support Services grant was discontinued in 2011, Slaubaugh transferred to the Business Office where she currently works as an administrative associate working with the hiring and employment processing system, daily cash deposits, bill payment and invoicing, as well as assisting in the Service Office.

Slaubaugh is an alumna of Potomac State having earned an A.A.S. degree in Office Systems Technology in 2003.

She served on the Classified Staff Council for more than 12 years and helps with the College’s annual theatrical production coordinating ticket reservations.

Slaubaugh is an active member of the Church of Christ of Keyser. She resides in New Creek, W.Va., with her husband, Cline and they are the parents of two grown sons, Randy in Wooster, Ohio, and Shawn married to Marla in Buffalo, W.Va. They have four grandchildren.

In addition to a plaque, a student scholarship is awarded each fall on behalf of the Outstanding Staff Member.
