Olden named Chef at Potomac State
Martinsburg resident, Brian Olden, recently accepted the position of executive chef of Dining Services at Potomac State College of West Virginia University.
Chef Olden previously served as executive chef at the Purple Iris in Martinsburg and as a server and garde manger at the Mountain Lake Lodge in Harpers Ferry, both of which are located in West Virginia. He brings more than 15 years of experience in culinary and management skills with him, stating, “I’m extremely excited to join the Potomac State team and I look forward to sharing my culinary experience with the staff and students!”
Chef Olden earned his culinary arts degree from Shepherd University and was in the culinary arts program at James Rumsey Technical Institute.
He is responsible for overseeing the production of the campus dining facilities as well as the high-profile catered events. He also helped implement an herb garden where students can see food growing on a daily basis.
When asked about relocating to the area, Chef Olden had this to say, “I have only been in the area three months and it already feels like home. This area is rich in nature and outdoor activities so I’m sure I will fit in just fine.”
He and his wife, Lindsey, welcomed their newborn daughter, Juniper, into the world on July 30th.
