Former Keyser resident CAPT. Darin Rogers to be honored at WVU Potomac State College

West Virginia University Potomac State College Alumnus CAPT. Darin P. Rogers, Class of 1985, will be recognized with the Alumni Achievement Award during Homecoming activities at the College on Oct. 27.

CAPT. Rogers has served as a performance-driven healthcare leader for many years.   He has extensive experience in project management roles, tactical planning, multi-site operations, business analysis, contract negotiations, integrated delivery systems, and oversight project planning and execution. 

CAPT. Rogers currently serves as vice president and chief ambulatory operations officer with WVU Healthcare and as vice president of Provider Network Services with WVU Health Services in Morgantown.  He also serves as a board member of Healthworks in Morgantown.

In addition to prior experience at St. Vincent’s Healthcare in Jacksonville, Fla., CAPT. Rogers previously served as the chief operations officer in Navy Medicine Support Command in Jacksonville, Fla.; as an administrator at the Naval Health Clinic in Mayport, Fla.; as a senior director of Support Services at the Naval Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla.; as the senior healthcare administration adviser to Navy Medicine Chief Executive Officer at the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery in Washington, D.C.; and as the senior director of Support Services at the Naval Medical Clinic in Pearl Harbor, Hi.  

Other career highlights include serving as the department head of Patient Administration at the naval Hospital in Pensacola, Fla.; as a medical regulator with the 1st Medical Battalion for Desert Shield/Desert Storm; as medical administrative officer with the USS Saratoga (CV-60) in Mayport, Fla.; as the health facility planning officer with the Healthcare Support Office in Jacksonville, Fla.; and as director of administration in the 3rd Dental Battalion/U.S. Dental Center in Okinawa, Japan.

After earning an associate degree at Potomac State, CAPT. Rogers earned a bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration from Davis and Elkins College in Elkins, W.Va.; a master’s degree in management from Troy University in Troy, Ala.; and is also a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

His affiliations include the American College of Healthcare Executives, the College of Health and Public Affairs, University of Central Florida; Interagency Institute for Federal Healthcare Executives; and serves as a board member of the AGAPE Clinic, Federally Funded Healthcare Clinic. 

The awards banquet will be held in the Davis Conference Center.  Social Hour begins at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m.  The cost of the dinner is $25 per adult and $10 for children 12 and under.
