ApologetiX to Perform In Concert On March 26

March 14, 2005

- Campus Crusade for Christ, a club at Potomac State College of WVU and Spirit 101 FM radio are cosponsoring the National Christian Rock Band ApologetiX, who will perform in concert on March 26 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of the Church-McKee Arts Center on the Keyser campus.

By their own admission, the music of ApologetiX is somewhat like "Weird Al Yankovic meets Billy Graham," in that it parodies songs from Elvis to Pearl Jam to the Beatles and many others.  Drawing crowds from around the world and with over 500 Biblical parodies written, ApologetiX shows no sign of slowing down.

ApologetiX was recently named "Favorite Independent Artist" in the 2004 CCM Magazine Readers Choice Awards, and also received "Alternative Artist of the Year" and "Alternative Song of the Year" from the American Christian Music Awards.

According to lead singer and lyricist J. Jackson, "As human beings, we are given a grace period throughout this life in which we are given time to turn to Christ for salvation, before the final judgment.  When we do turn to Christ, we are saved by grace, period."  With this thought as a basis for their music, ApologetiX has reached thousands of listeners through radio stations worldwide, The 700 Club, the Howard Stern Radio Show, Billy Graham's Decision Today and "The Dr. Demento Show," to name a few.  They were the cover story of Focus on the Familyýs Plugged In magazine, they have appeared in Campus Life, HM and Christian Musician, and they have been interviewed numerous times on ýWarren Duffy Liveý on KKLA in Los Angeles, CA.

ApologetiX is the official advocate for Compassion International, an organization founded in 1952 that provides food, shelter, education and medical care to more than 550,000 needy children in more than 20 countries.

Tickets for the concert may be purchased in advance from Instructor Timothy Turner, Campus Crusade members (see potomacstatecollege.edu Web site for listing), Gardnerýs Candy located at the Country Club Mall and Ottýs Music, both in LaVale, Md.  Tickets will also be available at Christian Light Bookstore in Hagerstown, Md. and at Main Street Books in Keyser.

For more information contact Timothy Turner at (304) 788-6958.  Tickets are $8 in advance or $12 at the door.
