Why did you choose Potomac State College?
Making the decision to come to Potomac State was the great opportunity for me to play baseball at a high level, and to get out on my own to further my education.
What does the Potomac State campus mean to you?
With the campus here at Potomac State being smaller than most colleges, I like that I can find everything very easy. Not worrying about driving to class each day or looking for a parking space; it’s just a simple walk across campus from class to class.
Who is your favorite faculty member?
My English professor Thomas Sydow. Plus he’s a big baseball fan and comes to a lot of games at Golden Park.
Why should a prospective student choose Potomac State College?
It is a great two year college to get a glimpse of college life. Potomac State classes are anywhere from 20 to 60 students, so you not only receive great attention from the professors, but also make a good relationship with them as well.
Tell us about some of your other interests outside of the classroom and what you like to do in your free time.
Outside of the classroom, I spend the majority of my time with the Potomac State Baseball team. I also like to go fishing with my teammates all around the town of Keyser.
Do you have a sense of what you'd like to accomplish after your time at Potomac State?
I would like to extend my education onto a four year college, and hopeful get the chance to play baseball at the next level.
What is the best part of being an athlete at Potomac State College?
Being an athlete here at Potomac State gives you the opportunity to make relationships with teammates, get yourself into better shape physically, and sharpen your baseball skills to help the team out during your time here at Potomac State.
Is it difficult to balance time at practice and games with being a good student?
Coming to Potomac State as a freshman the first few weeks was definitely a culture shock. It takes a while to get adjusted to the rigors of being a college student. Soon enough you settle in and learn how to manage school work, and your sport.
How do you think being an athlete will help prepare you for your future after college?
Being an athlete taught me what it takes to get to the next level, and how hard work will be the only way to get you prepared for the next steps of my future.
