Agriculture and Forestry Living Learning Community Agreement The privilege of living / participating in the Potomac State College Agriculture and Forestry Living Learning Community (AFLLC) entails important responsibilities. Your commitment to the College requires that you fulfill those responsibilities as you provide needed services to our community members and the AFLLC. The ethics and commitments detailed below are guidelines for assuring that you have a productive and positive experience, and that the program accomplishes its stated outcomes on behalf of those with whom you will work with. In the course of your living learning activities, remember that a responsible investment of your time and talent reflects well on the College, AFLLC Community, and the science of Agriculture and Forestry As a representative of the AFLLC: I commit to be actively involved in the Community functions as described in this community agreement and by the AFLLC supervisors. I understand that no illegal actions will be tolerated by the College and that I must conduct myself accordingly to the Student Code of Conduct, Residence Hall Policies, and the AFLLC contract. I agree to conduct myself with integrity at all times. This includes showing respect for all individuals, their property, and property of Potomac State College of West Virginia University Failure to maintain a GPA of 2.0 will result in active participation in study groups, academic counseling, and other academic offerings. I must assist in the preparation, while participating in the AFLLC activities such as: United Way community service campaign, campus community service project, AFLLC recruitment. I must participate in at least one of the student organizations associated with the AFLLC, including but not limited to the PSC Agriculture and Forestry Club, the PSC Collegiate 4-H Club and the PSC Equestrian Club. (Attendance is monitored) I will attend at least 5 AFLCC programs or pre-approved educational program substitutes per semester Responsibility It is important that the students in the AFLLC program carry out all assigned tasks and duties related to their service and community living. If you agree to be somewhere or to do something, you are expected to follow through. Please carefully plan your time commitment to AFLLC service and community living activities so that you're other various non academic responsibilities do not conflict. You are responsible for becoming knowledgeable of all campus policies. For all questions regarding campus polices, please refer to the Student Code of Conduct, Residence Hall Handbook, and AFLLC policies established in this community agreement. Serious violations of these rules and procedures can lead to probation, deferred removal, and even removal from the residence halls. (Refer to the Residence Hall Handbook for definitions) Specific Expectations: ý attend all hall, AFLLC community meetings and study groups meetings unless there is conflict with academic requirements when deemed necessary by advisors ý inform AFLLC staff and faculty when you have questions or academic concerns ý Maintain a GPA of 2.0, full-time academic enrollment, and residence hall good standing. ý Attend 5 out of 7 AFLLC Programs ý Follow the guidelines stated in the Student Code of Conduct, Residence Hall Handbook, and AFLLC Student Community Agreement. Students who fail to fulfill these expectations will be required to meet with a committee made up of advisors and your peers from the program and/or placed on probation for a specific time. Removal from the program will result in the loss of your privileges to reside in the Living/Learning community of Friend Hall. During this probationary period, students must meet regularly with a AFLLC advisor and the RHC of Academic Programming. If students do not fulfill their probationary requirements, they will be dismissed from the program and moved to another hall. Should a problem arise when fulfilling your contract, notify the AFLLC Coordinator or the RHC of Academic Programming. Confidentiality As part of your commitment to the AFLLC program we will conduct surveys to assist in providing better service, academic advising, and peer mediation. It is important that you understand that we will only use this information to assist in serving you and will keep the information on a need to know bases, as directed by law and University/College policy. Please see the Student Handbook and Academic Handbook for specific details. Transportation In most cases, transportation to and from activities will be provided by the College. By agreeing to provide transportation to other students you are taking on the responsibility of transporting them to and from the activity safely. Please take all necessary precautions. If the College provides transportation, only certified drivers such as RA's, staff, faculty and student workers who have completed the College and State driving requirements may drive. Agreement Statement I have carefully read and understand the AFLLC student community agreement. I agree to uphold the community agreement to the best of my ability and recognize that my actions and attitude reflect directly upon the AFLLC and Potomac State College of WVU as an institution of higher education effectively the 2007-2008 academic year.
