West Virginia University Potomac State College will host Homecoming 2021 activities on campus Saturday, Oct. 16, in which members of the community are invited to participate. (Note: The safety of students, faculty, staff, and guests continues to be an important guiding factor. Plans could change should the threat of the COVID-19 delta variant increases in which case announcements and refunds would be made.)

Honorees this year include Kenneth Haines, Class of 1950, PSC professor emeritus of modern languages, to be awarded the Alumni Achievement award posthumously; A. Jay Root, Mineral County Health Department Administrator, will receive the Distinguished Service award; and Logan DelSignore, Class of 2012, a local realtor and entrepreneur will receive the Young Alumni Achievement award.

The West Virginia University Symphony Orchestra will present an encore of its season opening performance as the Highland Arts Unlimited season continues Friday, Sept. 24, at 7:30 p.m., at the Church-McKee Arts Center on the campus of WVU Potomac State College.

Bradley Green has been serving his country through the National Guard for six years and as of spring 2020, he began serving its citizens in a different way – as a nurse in the healthcare system. 

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -  West Virginia University is updating its mask guidelines. Beginning Monday, Sept. 13, all individuals, regardless of vaccination status, will be required to wear a mask indoors in all WVU System buildings and facilities through Oct. 6, when public health conditions will be reevaluated.

The new requirement supersedes a  temporary revision announced on Aug. 17 for classrooms and labs. Although positive cases and quarantine instances involving WVU employees and students remain at manageable levels, the University is proactively making this move due to the recent significant increase of COVID-19 cases in West Virginia, including the increasing instances of hospitalization across the state.

West Virginia University issued the following statement on Monday (Aug. 23) after the Federal Drug Administration fully approved the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine:
