Dear PSC Alumni and Friends:
In this issue of the PSC Alumni & Friends Update, we are reviewing the exciting momentum of April, May, and June. I’m pleased to share one of my most memorable events of this period — the birth of our son. Allyson safely delivered Maxwell Chadwick Wallace on April 7, at 9:27 a.m. Maxwell weighed six pounds, ten ounces, and was nineteen inches in length. Sister Kennedy has been excellent with the transition from only child to big sister. Thank you all for your well wishes, gifts, and prayers!
On Saturday, May 10, more than 150 students graduated from WVU Potomac State College. Their family, friends, and the Catamount Community came to celebrate and congratulate them. One of the highlights was the keynote speaker, a non-traditional student or adult learner, Brandon Liller. His story of resilience, dedication, hope, and family spoke to the fear most of us have about getting back up when we meet obstacles. As a non-traditional student, born and raised here in Keyser, Brandon’s journey showed the power of a strong community. The WVU Potomac State College Commencement Ceremony is now available for viewing on YouTube.
In June, WVU Potomac State College was, of course, officially out for the summer. Even so, the campus is busy with camps, community events, and upgrades. Looking ahead, we are excited about fall and return of the students. We are especially looking forward to Homecoming Weekend scheduled for Friday, October 3, through Sunday, October 5. Please plan to come for all or some of the festivities. We look forward to seeing you on campus soon!
Dr. Jerry Wallace, President
