Hello Alumni!

The New Year brought new opportunities and the WVU Potomac State College Alumni Association started strong!

In February, we celebrated the birthday of WVU Potomac State College. Turning 124 years old never looked so good! The PSC Alumni really showed up in March for the WVU Day of Giving! Thanks so much to all who donated and made this the most successful Day of Giving to date for WVU Potomac State College. We had 54 individual donors and raised $166,843 for scholarships and other initiatives identified by PSC as priorities. Again, many thanks to all for your support!

Now, turning your attention ahead, your help is needed. Below, see the many ways in which you can give back to WVU Potomac State College.

1.     Join the PSC Alumni Association Board of Directors: You might be thinking, “I’m too busy!” The truth is, everyone is busy, but people are needed who care about WVU Potomac State College and want to continue to see it thrive. The PSC Alumni Board only meets four times per year on a quarterly basis in the Mary F. Shipper Library on the PSC campus. However, it does not matter where you live or where you might be on any given meeting date. You can attend the meetings virtually. Interested? Learn more about the PSC Alumni Association.

2.     “Like” the PSC Alumni Association on Facebook: It’s so easy to do. There are currently over 700 followers. Let’s make that number grow to 1,500—and beyond! Please “ like” the PSC Alumni Association Facebook page today. Stay on top of what is happening and take a moment to post about yourself. We love hearing from our Alumni!

3.     Nominate a fellow Alum for a Potomac State College Alumni Association Award: Each year on Homecoming Weekend, outstanding Alumni are recognized for three different awards—the Alumni Achievement, Distinguished Service, and Young Alumni Awards. Do you know someone who deserves one of these awards? Check out the criteria and nominate them. Nominations are accepted year-round, and you can nominate as many people as you like. However, to be considered for the Fall 2025 awards, please submit your nomination(s) by Friday, August 1.

4.     Come back to campus! We would love to see you. This year, Homecoming is Friday, October 3, through Saturday, October 4. An exciting, fun-filled weekend is being planned. Don’t miss this opportunity to visit PSC, reconnect with old friends, reminisce, and participate in the fun. Stay tuned for more information in the coming months.

5.     Donate to WVU Potomac State College: There are so many ways to give back to our alma mater. You can:

  • Buy a brick to support the Catamount Baseball Team.
  • Name a seat at the Church-McKee Arts Center. This is an opportunity to remember or honor a loved one while supporting the Arts Center.
  • Donate directly to WVU Potomac State College. There are over 90 different funds that you can choose from to support the College and the students we serve.

I hope these ideas inspire you to give back in some way to our beloved WVU Potomac State College. Please email me at PSC-Alumni@mail.wvu.edu if you have any questions. I look forward to hearing from you and hope to see you one day soon!

Let’s Go… Catamounts!
