Meet Batson Sheets, Vice-President

Batson Sheets

Batson Sheets, a native of Tornado, West Virginia, began his higher education journey at WVU Potomac State College, in Fall 2019, after completing dual-enrollment coursework at West Virginia State University during his high school senior year. From the start, PSC served as the foundation for his academic growth, leadership development, and commitment to service. During his time at PSC, Batson was a men's lacrosse student-athlete, earned academic honors, and was actively involved on campus, including serving as SGA President during the 2020-2021 academic year.

Batson's experience at PSC was shaped in part by the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, which tested his resilience and adaptability. He credits PSC with helping him find his voice as a leader while introducing him to alumni engagement and public service. Following graduation in 2021, he became involved with the PSC Alumni Association after receiving an invitation to deliver Student Government remarks at Alumni Board meetings — an experience that solidified his desire to remain connected to the institution.

Since then, Batson has remained involved with the PSC Alumni Association Board of Directors and currently serves as the vice-president. He is midway through his second three-year term. After graduation from PSC in 2021, he completed undergraduate and graduate studies at Wheeling University '23, WVU '25, and Bethany College '25. Looking ahead, Batson plans to pursue a law degree focused on public service, built on a leadership foundation, plus an enduring sense of community instilled in him while at WVU Potomac State College.
