Homecoming 2022 activities announced

Homecoming 2022 October 14 and 15

All alumni are invited to come back to their alma mater and engage in the following Homecoming 2022 activities, planned for Friday, Oct. 14, and Saturday, Oct. 15, on the WVU Potomac State College campus:

Friday

  • 5:45 p.m.  Pizza/Agriculture Display (Tailgate prior to the volleyball game to showcase the Sustainable Agriculture Entrepreneurship (SAGE) Program, including stone-oven pizza, selling maple syrup and flower arrangements, etc.) - Lough Gym
  • 6 p.m.  Volleyball Game - Lough Gym
  • 8 p.m.  Basketball Showcase - Lough Gym

Saturday

  • 9 - 11 a.m.  Alumni Association Board Meeting (all are welcome to attend at Mary F. Shipper Library)
  • 9 - 10 a.m.  Coffee and Class – Student Union (Mini-Interactive Academic Fair)
  • 10 - 11 a.m.  Campus Tours - Meet at the Student Union - end at Mary F. Shipper Library
  • 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.  Alumni Brunch – Mary F. Shipper Library
  • 10:30 a.m.  Women’s Alumni Softball Game vs Intra Squad - Softball field
  • 11:45 a.m. - 2 p.m.  Tailgate - Stayman Field
  • 12 p.m.  Women’s Soccer Game vs Howard Community College at Stayman Field
  • Crowning Homecoming King and Queen – Between the Women’s and Men’s Soccer Games at Stayman Field
  • 2 p.m.  Men’s Soccer Game vs Howard Community College at Stayman Field
  • 1 - 5 p.m. Bookstore open
  • 2:30 p.m.  Alumni Baseball Game vs WVU Potomac State College at Golden Park 

The annual Alumni Achievement Awards Banque t will be held in the Davis Conference Center. The doors will open at 5:15 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6 p.m. followed by the awards ceremony at 7 p.m. The following three deserving alumni will be honored:

  • Alumni Achievement – Matty Staudt
  • Distinguished Alumni – Dinah Courrier
  • Young Alumni – Nicholas Gardner

The association will also celebrate those who attended 10 years ago (2012), 25 years ago (1997), and 50 years ago (1972), as well as the year with the most attendees, and the oldest lady and gentleman attendees present. Various door prizes will also be awarded this year.

The price of the banquet meal is $35 per adult ($17.50 under 12). Donations are graciously accepted with all gifts going towards the Potomac State College Alumni Scholarship Fund. 

The menu consists of:

  • Greek Salad
  • Grilled Steak with Balsamic Onion Confit
  • Tortellini Primavera
  • Parsley Potatoes
  • Balsamic Roasted Vegetables
  • Flying WV Cookies
  • Gourmet Cupcakes (Specialty Flavors)
  • Fruit cup
  • Beverages
