Message from Outgoing PSC Alumni President

An image of Pam Wilkinson

I first arrived at Potomac State in the Fall of 1977. I quickly fell in love with the campus and the college. Attending Potomac State was a transformational opportunity that was only possible through generous scholarships from previous alumni. Much of my success in life can be attributed to my time at Potomac State, from the teachers who genuinely cared about their students and instilled many life lessons, to the life-long friends I made along the way.

Several years ago, I had the chance to pay that generosity forward by becoming a member of the Alumni Association Board of Directors. Eventually, I became president of the Alumni Board, where I have served the last three years. Just like my time on campus, being part of the Alumni Association Board has caused me to fall in love with our alma mater all over again. Serving on the board also provided an opportunity to help our students succeed through the generosity of our alumni.

In recent years, the Alumni Association has been instrumental in adding additional scholarships that allow students the opportunity to attend college and fund various programs that directly help students who choose to attend WVU Potomac State. It is my sincere hope that the generosity of our alumni will continue so the board can maintain and expand funding for programs and student opportunities.

As my time as president of the alumni board comes to an end, I leave it in very capable hands. I want to thank each member of the Alumni Board. You helped rebuild the board into something truly great. Thank you goes to President Gilmer for his steadfast support of the Alumni Association. I’d also like to thank the numerous professors, administrators, and staff at the college - your support and friendship have been vital to our successes over the last several years and have helped us bridge the gap between our association and the College. Finally, I’d like to thank all the alumni I have met over the years. Thank you for sharing your memories and stories of your time at our alma mater. Thank you for your generosity; we couldn’t do any of this without you.

Finally, I’d like to say I will still be around, serving on committees, attending meetings, and helping where I can. After all, once a Catamount, always a Catamount!
