The fourth annual Day of Giving event is scheduled for March 3, 2021. Development Director Keri Whitacre explains the value in The Day of Giving and how this fundraising event can support priorities and opportunities specific to Potomac State College.

Dear Potomac State Alumni,

What is your favorite memory of Potomac State College?! Perhaps it is time spent with friends on the quad; maybe playing a sport or participating in a student organization; a favorite professor or class. Whatever it may be, think about how important your time at Potomac State was and how it shaped your life. Approximately 1,300 students attend Potomac State each year. These students are getting a valuable education with individual attention from professors. In addition, they are learning a variety of life lessons as they grow during this transition stage of life.

I’m coming to you today to talk about the fourth annual Day of Giving. The Day of Giving is a 24-hour online event that encourages WVU alumni and friends to support the University’s greatest priorities and opportunities—including scholarships and unrestricted funds. As Potomac State is one of the divisional campuses of WVU, we can participate in this event and raise funds specifically for our campus. Your generosity can make a difference in a student’s life. I’m asking you to donate back to where your collegiate career started…Potomac State College. Now more than ever, it’s important that we be innovative and look for new opportunities to inspire philanthropy to support our students, faculty, and campus.

Please save the date. The Day of Giving is scheduled for March 3, 2021. More information will be coming your way. I challenge all alumni to be active this day and show support for Potomac State College. Together we can make a difference…Let’s Go Catamounts!

Sincerely,

Keri B. Whitacre, Ed.D.
