WVU PSC athletes benefit in personal merchandising through partnership

WVU Potomac State College Athletics has announced a new Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) agreement with the sports technology company Influxer, which will provide student-athletes with expanded opportunities to build their own personal brands while gaining access to valuable educational and professional resources.

"We're excited for this partnership to further enhance our athletic program," said PSC president Dr. Jerry Wallace. Wallace, who was a two-sport college athlete himself, said this new opportunity will allow each athlete to develop entrepreneurial skills. "And it creates excitement in our whole Catamount community as we celebrate and cheer for our athletes."

Potomac State College Athletics views the partnership as a key step in enhancing the overall student-athlete experience while preparing Catamounts for success beyond competition.

Through the partnership, Potomac State student-athletes can opt into creating their own personalized Influxer store, allowing fans to purchase officially licensed apparel and merchandise directly associated with their favorite Catamounts. Products include hats, t-shirts, sweatshirts, jerseys, and tumblers, with new designs and items added throughout the year. All merchandise designs are approved by the institution and made available across participating student-athlete stores within each sport.

In addition to merchandise opportunities, this partnership places a strong emphasis on education and professional development. Student-athletes receive access to free one-on-one coaching sessions with Influxer staff on topics such as social media marketing, financial literacy, taxes and contract education. The company also offers paid internship opportunities on partner campuses in areas including marketing, graphic design, and business operations.

Influxer’s mission is to connect student-athletes with the tools and support they need to succeed in the evolving NIL landscape. The company currently works with more than 44,000 student-athletes across over 500 licensed universities nationwide, offering student-athletes the opportunity to sell personalized merchandise featuring officially licensed school branding.

"The NIL landscape is constantly evolving. Working with Mandi Larkin and the administration has been an amazing opportunity to see the vision they have for Potomac State College, providing great options through Influxer for their student-athletes," said Influxer Vice President Keith Miller, who noted that the partnership is "not simply a transactional opportunity, but as an opportunity to develop long-term skills for life."

Student-athlete merchandise is now available through the official Potomac State College Influxer store, which can be found at:
