Even if you’ve taken the class before, there are still things to learn. West Virginia
University Potomac State College will once again offer the continuing education
course, “
Stepping into Grapes and Grains” this fall.
PSC Professors Donna Ballard and Tom Sydow will explore and present the basic knowledge
and skills associated with the home production of wines and beers as participants
have fun learning the fundamentals of fermentation, the availability of grapes
and other fruits, and the difference between wine, lagers and ales.
West Virginia University Potomac State College’s Jim
Walton, head softball coach and women’s basketball coach and assistant athletic
director, announced he will retire this month.
Students
from all three West Virginia University campuses – Beckley, Keyser and
Morgantown, recently traveled to Quebec City, Canada for an international

Charlotte, N.C. – The National Junior College Athletic Association recently announced the recognition of 16 West Virginia University Potomac State College athletes with All-Academic honors.
To be recognized on an NJCAA All-Academic team, student-athletes must maintain a 3.6 grade-point average (GPA) or above on a 4.0 scale while completing two full-time semesters. There are three NJCAA All-Academic teams: First-Team (4.00 GPA), Second-Team (3.80 to 3.99 GPA) and Third-Team (3.60 to 3.79 GPA).
Give the gift of life by donating blood. Blood supplies become low because not enough people donate blood, especially types A, B and O. West Virginia University Potomac State College will hold a blood drive on Tuesday, July 2 at the Davis Conference Center from 1:30 to 6 p.m. Appointments can be scheduled (but aren’t required) by calling 1.800.733.2767, or by visiting RedCrossBlood.org and entering PotomacState. A free tee-shirt will be given to those donating blood (while supplies last).
WVU School of
Nursing students on the Potomac State College, Keyser campus, follow the same
progression plan, student handbook, curriculum, policies, procedures, and
experience real-life learning in a simulated environment as students on the
other WVU School of Nursing campuses.

of The Entrepreneurial University by the Deshpande Symposium on Tuesday, June

Highland
Arts Unlimited will kick off its 47th season with a free concert by
Pan Jammin’ Steel Drum Bands at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 22 in the
Church-McKee Arts Center at Potomac State College.
Persons
seeking membership in Highland Arts Unlimited (HAU) will receive a $5 discount
in their selected category up to and including the night of the performance on
Aug. 22.
Neil Epstein has been named the head men’s basketball
coach at West Virginia University Potomac State College, according to Dean of
Student Experience Lucas Taylor. Epstein arrives at Potomac State after most
recently serving as assistant coach at Southern Vermont College (SVC).
Beginning in fall 2019, West Virginia University Potomac
State College will offer accelerated online prep courses in Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) A+,
Network+, and Security+. Each eight-week
online course is designed with working adults in mind so the length of the
courses can
be adapted as needed.
All three prep courses are constructed to build a strong
knowledge foundation and skills base, thereby providing individuals with the comprehension
and confidence needed to pass the CompTIA certification exams. Following is a brief description of each course:
