Rodney Vilsaint, a sports management major from Palm Beach, Florida, is the recipient of the Catamounts Climb Higher Award for January 2025, at West Virginia University Potomac State College.
Vilsaint serves as a resident assistant (RA) for University Place at the College and coordinates many activities and events for students to enjoy. He is also an active member of the men’s basketball team, playing the position of guard.
Allison Minney, a West Virginia University Potomac State College student from Alum Creek, W.Va., completed her BTEC 225 Direct Experience this past summer at Dollywood Splash Country in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.

Over the past few months, the Catamount Community has responded to the needs of our students and partners with enthusiasm. Our excitement stems from the opportunities we have to improve our services and expand access to education throughout our region. Most recently we announced the WV Guarantee program and there may be more scholarship support to come before the start of the fall 2025 semester.
The WVU Guarantee is open to undergraduate students across the WVU system who are West Virginia residents, have a family-adjusted gross income of $65,000 or less, and annually complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
