It’s also an exciting time to spread
the word about the Metro Tuition Program. This program has been expanded to include
all residents of Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, providing an annual $5,000
tuition savings for eligible students.
One year into his presidency,
Dr. Jerry Wallace guided WVU Potomac State College through a period of renewed
energy, enrollment growth, and strengthened institutional culture, positioning
the College for long-term success across the region and the state.

Potomac State College President Jerry Wallace is pleased to announce the
students who earned a place on the Fall 2024 President’s List.
To be eligible for the
President’s List, a student must be enrolled in at least 12-credit hours of
graded courses and must earn a grade-point average of 3.700 or higher for the
semester. A student is not eligible if the grade recorded for a course is: D,
F, I (Incomplete), NR (Not Recorded), P (Pass), S (Satisfactory), or Audit.
WVU Potomac State College Dean
of Academic and Student Affairs Phillip Douthitt is pleased to announce the
students who earned a place on the Fall 2024 Dean’s List.
To be eligible for the Dean’s
List, a student must be enrolled for at least 12-credit hours of graded courses
and must maintain a grade-point average of 3.000 to 3.699 for the semester. A
student is not eligible if the grade recorded for a course is: D, F, I
(Incomplete), NR (Not Recorded), P (Pass), S (Satisfactory), or Audit.
Each year the WVU PSC Alumni Association
selects an alumnus to be designated as a Whitmore-Gates Scholar. The recipient must
have been a student at Potomac State College for at least one semester and must
have produced a scholarly work of outstanding quality. Scholarly works may include
the publication of books, articles in journals, presentations at academic conferences,
public performances, works of art, or other academic achievements. The award may
be given posthumously.
For David R. Gay, a life of purpose
began in the small town of St. Albans and has carried him through a fulfilling career,
a lifetime of learning and now, a legacy of giving back to the institutions that
shaped him.
The Whitmer International
Student Support Fund, a new demand fund, has been established to help provide
responsive support for international students enrolled at WVU Potomac State
College. Support provided includes, but is not limited to, transportation needs
(including local travel, contractual transportation services and car rentals),
lodging, meals (particularly during academic breaks and holidays when campus
housing and dining facilities are closed), and other essential support services
to ensure student safety and well-being.
