Message from Alumni President…

Greetings! The Alumni Association is thrilled to welcome our new Interim President Chris Gilmer, PhD, to our Catamount family. We are already working with Dr. Gilmer to seize the countless opportunities in what we expect to be an exciting year ahead.

I would like to personally invite you to WVU Potomac State College’s Homecoming on October 14th and15th, 2022. Numerous activities are being planned specifically for alumni, including our quarterly Alumni Association Board Meeting, an alumni brunch, campus tours, the annual Alumni Baseball game, and our Alumni Achievement Awards Banquet.

You can find out more about the planned homecoming activities in this issue of the newsletter and by following the Potomac State College Alumni Association Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/POTOMACSTATEALUMNI.

Please visit https://tinyurl.com/PSC-Alumni-Banquet to see the list of alumni activities and make your reservation for the Alumni Achievement Awards Banquet.   You must reserve your seat by October 5th. No reservations will be accepted after that time.  Please contact psc-alumni@mail.wvu.edu or call 304-788-6840 if you have problems or need to make other arrangements.

While you are reserving your seat at the banquet, please consider sending a contribution in support of our annual scholarship program.  We will be accepting contributions  In Memory of Past Alumnus .”  These memorials will be featured in the program distributed at the banquet.  We urge you to please support the Alumni Association even if you are unable to attend the banquet.

We are also looking for any old college photographs you are willing to share for a slideshow presentation. Those can be forwarded to psc-alumni@mail.wvu.edu

Remember, to be an official alumnus, graduation is not a requirement. One simply needs to successfully complete one class. We hope all our alumni take part in the upcoming Homecoming activities and the future goals and activities planned in the next year.

One of our major goals in the coming year will be to engage our alumni while still in college. To that end, the board will be establishing a mentorship program between students and alumni. This was the most requested suggestion in the survey results. Please stay tuned for more information on the mentorship program. If you are interested in helping with this or other activities, please contact us at psc-alumni@mail.wvu.edu or call 304-788-6840 and leave us a message.

I look forward to seeing you on October 14th and 15th!

Sincerely,

Pam Wilkinson ‘79

President
