How Do We Earn Points?

Each day will have a theme for students to dress up in, along with events/programs hosted each day. Students will be awarded a pre-set number of points for each theme or event in which they participate. Separate points will be awarded to students who place in the top three of each event.

Monday, April 18

Theme: Get Up & Go Day (Pajama Day)

Pop-Up Event:  Breakfast in Bed — grab some free breakfast treats on the Quad from 12 - 2 p.m.


Other Events: 

Cornhole Intramural League Cornhole Competition on the Quad (Rec Center if it rains) at 5 p.m.

Teams of two will compete in games of cornhole. A single-elimination tournament will determine the winner!

Trivia Showdown in the Student Union at 7 p.m.

Teams of up to 4 participants will test their knowledge of trivia in four different categories.

Flag Football Intramural League Football Competition at Stayman Field at 8:30 p.m.

Teams of 6 face-offs to see who carries the bragging rights for football across campus! A single-elimination tournament will be hosted for the day.

Tuesday, April 19

Theme: Tacky Tourist

Pop-Up Event: Tropical Smoothies — take a break from vacation and cool down with a free smoothie on the Quad from 12 - 2 p.m. 


Other Events:

Lip Sync Battle in Church-McKee Arts Center at 5 p.m. 

Participants will do their best Lip Sync of their favorite songs! A panel of judges will score each performance to determine the winners. Rumor has it Dean Lucas Taylor is participating.

Wednesday, April 20

Theme: Frat Day

Pop-Up Event: Pong Tournament  — grab a partner and see if you can run the table on the Quad from 12 - p.m.


Other Events: 

Recovery Care Presentation in the DCC at 5 p.m.

Kickball at Stayman Field at 6 p.m.

Teams of 8 will take the field to showcase their skills in Kickball in a single-elimination tournament. Will the Staff/Faculty team be able to retain their crown?

Thursday, April 21

Theme: Dynamic Duo Grab a friend and dress alike! 

Pop-Up Event:  Twix and Kit-Kats— split a sweet treat with your twin on the Quad from 12 - 2 p.m. 


Other Events: 

Cornhole Intramural League Cornhole Competition on the Quad (Rec Center if it rains) at 5 p.m.

Teams of two will compete in games of cornhole. A single-elimination tournament will determine the winner!

Capture the Flag on the Quad at 6 p.m.

Participants will be split into equal teams to face off head-to-head. Teams will be tasked with capturing the flag of the opposing team and returning it to their base without being tagged.

Friday, April 22

Theme: Gold and Blue Day

Pop-Up Event: Flying WV Cookies — Wear your best Gold and Blue clothing to show pride and support for WVU and Potomac State College on the Quad from 12 - 2 p.m. 


Other Events: 

Scavenger Hunt on the Quad at 5:30 p.m.

Campus is full of clues, and in this game, teams will have to hunt across campus to complete the checklists given to them!

Jailbreak Tag on the Quad at 7:30 p.m.

How do you make tag better? By including hide and seek with it! Participants will be split into two teams, then one team will seek out the other.

Saturday, April 23

Theme: Dorm Color Day

Each Residence Hall has been assigned a color. A limited number of t-shirts will be handed out at the Field Day Events. Be sure to represent your Residence Hall! 

Here's a list of team colors:

  • Catamount Place/Reynolds Hall/Commuters: Purple
  • Friend Hall: Blue
  • Memorial Hall: Green
  • University Place 1st Floor & 2nd Floor: Pink
  • University Place Ground Floor & 3rd Floor: Yellow/Gold

Want to give back to the campus community during Dorm War Week? Participants can donate items to gain a point per item for their team/residence hall. To donate items, participants can give items to their RA or turn them into the Housing Office. Here's what you can donate: Undamaged, unused journals/notebooks with no pages torn out from previous use that have a cover (spiral bound is fine, just no notepads without a cover).
